On some occasions we have sought non-organic growth, but our experience also began when a fellow lawyer and consultant asked us to help him sell his professional firm. It was not an easy decision after 20 years of his own seniority and another 40 years with his partner's, who was also a family member (we understand firsthand the unique challenges of family businesses).
