Once the Assembly was formally convened, lawyer José Conesa of the Barcelona firm was elected President for the 2013–2014 term, and he went on to chair the remainder of the meeting. In addition to outgoing President Valdemar Gonçalves and incoming President José Conesa, the ELEN members in attendance were lawyer Vincenzo M. Carena of Studio Avvocato Carena (Turin), lawyer Jean Jacques Duflos of Duflos & Cartigny Associés (Lyon), and lawyer José Floriano Monteiro Saad of Saad Advocacia (Brazil), an ELEN associate firm.
Full attendees: Vincenzo M. Carena, Paolo Caridi, Jean Jacques Duflos, Valdemar Gonçalves, Carlos Reis Gonçalves, José Conesa, Josep Conesa, Jordi Conesa, Jordi Ligüerre and José F. M. Saad.
The main resolutions adopted at the Assembly included approval of the minutes of the previous meeting, a review of ELEN's activities and those of its members over the past year, updates to the network's website, and, as a key objective, the assignment of a specific country to each member firm, with the task of identifying a suitable firm in that country to be proposed for membership of ELEN.
It was agreed to hold the interim Directors' Meeting in March 2014 in Cervinia, Italy, with lawyer Vincenzo M. Carena taking responsibility for its organisation.
The positions of Secretary and Treasurer were also filled, with those roles assigned to the Turin and Barcelona firms respectively.
Conesa Asociados hosted the official dinner for all attendees and accompanying guests.
The following day, a guided tour of the Sagrada Família was conducted in French, concluding with a farewell lunch. Joining the members, associates and their guests were lawyer Julio Silvio Cerquetani from Brazil, invited by lawyer José F. M. Saad, and lawyer Pascal Junod from Geneva, a collaborator of Valdemar Gonçalves, who was invited to learn more about our legal network.
The next Assembly will be held in Lyon, organised by Duflos & Cartigny Associés.
