Last weekend, Porto hosted the 8th Ordinary General Assembly of the European Legal Network (ELEN), an international network of law firms of which Conesa Legal is a founding member. ELEN was established back in 2008 through a carefully curated selection of European firms, with the aim of providing excellence-driven legal coverage for the cross-border needs of clients across its various member offices. As José Conesa Ballesteros explained last September, at the launch of our firm's new corporate identity, an event that coincided almost exactly with Conesa Legal's 40th anniversary, "today we have already crossed the Atlantic, with offices in Brazil and Argentina."
Jordi Conesa, shareholder and Executive Director of Conesa Legal, represented the firm at this gathering, which brought together around 25 professionals from Brazil, Spain, France, Italy and Portugal. The occasion gave ELEN members the opportunity to strengthen ties, gain insight into the impact of France's new labour reform, inspired in large part by the Spanish model, with which our firm has extensive expertise, and explore in depth the tax legislative framework applicable to non-residents in Portugal.
