Lawyer Mª Teresa Garasa, a specialist in Corporate and EU Law at Conesa Asociados, participated in the seventh edition of the European Jurist Forum, held in Barcelona from 18 to 20 April.
The international event brought together more than 700 legal professionals from across Europe to examine the latest developments in European law across the fields of business law, criminal law, and public law relating to migration and asylum.
Particularly noteworthy were the conference sessions on the cross-border mobility of companies within the EU and holding company insolvency, criminal liability of legal entities, and the free movement of persons in the Euro-Mediterranean area.
The Crown Prince presided over the opening ceremony of this seventh edition of the European Jurists Forum, held in Barcelona for the first time. In his address, the Crown Prince recalled that just days earlier he had had the opportunity to chair the ceremony conferring appointments upon newly qualified Spanish judges in Barcelona, an event also attended by José Conesa in his capacity as Vice-President of the Barcelona Professional Association of Graduates in Social Sciences (Ilustre Colegio de Graduados Sociales de Barcelona). The Crown Prince expressed his gratitude for the hospitality extended by the city's institutions, which he described as 'fully and actively aware of the importance of law as an instrument for regulating the way advanced societies live together'.
