CONDITIONS FOR THE COVID-19 QUARTERLY TAX DEFERRAL:
This applies ONLY to businesses with a turnover of less than €600,000 in 2019 (for all others, the filing deadline remains 20 April 2020). The measures are as follows:
- The maximum deadline for submitting this quarter's tax returns is extended to 20 May 2020, and the deadline for direct debit arrangements will be 15 May.
- For returns already submitted with direct debit instructions, no payment will be debited until 20 May.
SELF-EMPLOYED INDIVIDUALS OPERATING AS BUSINESSES UNDER THE FLAT-RATE ESTIMATION SCHEME (Módulos):
- They may now opt out of the Flat-Rate Estimation Scheme (for this year only, rather than the standard three-year commitment) and make quarterly payments under the Simplified Direct Estimation Scheme.
- For those who do not opt out and remain in the Flat-Rate Estimation Scheme, a mechanism will be introduced to allow them to deduct from their net income the days during which their premises were closed.
COMPANIES:
- It will now be possible to change the method used to calculate instalment tax payments.
